Art on the MART 2021

Art on theMART is a large scale projection mapping series that takes place on the Merchandise Mart in downtown Chicago. With an army of 34 projectors covering a surface of 2.5 acres (an entire city block), it was then the largest permanent digital installation the world. The projections are visible by car, metro, boat, and plane. In the summer of 2021, in collaboration with Eighth Blackbird and composer Michael Gordon, we presented The Light of the Dark, a joyful celebration of togetherness in the midst of isolation and uncertainty. From July 10 - September 16, 2021, The Light of the Dark was played consecutively alongside brilliant works by Spectralina and Wills Glasspiegel.
